I want to take this opportunity to welcome you to the Bow Island Evangelical Free Church! We are a church of people growing in our relationship to Christ and inviting others to join us in this incredible journey. We love this community and greatly desire to love and serve it!

Tara and I joined the church on December 1, 2016 and are excited to be living in Bow Island and serving here at Bow Island E Free. A little about us:

Tara grew up in Medicine Hat and lived there her whole life except for the years she went to International Bible College in Moose Jaw, Sk. She did a 2 year program at Bible College and followed it up by getting her Early Childhood Development. I grew up in Harrow, Ontario near the Windsor/Detroit border and only a mile from Lake Erie. After high school I apprenticed and became a journeyman Mouldmaker in the Tool and Mould trade. From there God called me to go to Bible College in Three Hills at Prairie Bible College. From there God led me to River Park Church in Medicine Hat that called me as Associate Pastor from 2002 to 2005 which is when Tara and I met. On May 1, 2004 Tara and I were married. In September of 2005 Tara and I were called to take 2 rural churches in Etzikom and Orion, Alberta where we ministered for 11 years. We had all 4 of our children during that time, 3 girls and a boy. Our home was in Etzikom and we loved life in the tiny rural town, but God called again, leading us to the Bow Island Evangelical Free Church.

Tara and I have a deep passion to live our lives serving Jesus. We love to minister to people and bring them together in the common goal of pursuing Christ and serving and loving others. It has become a bit cliche, but our life goal is “to know Christ and to make Him known” (Phil. 3:10; Col. 1:27). To “know” means more than a head knowledge, it means to have a deep, personal and intimate relationship with the very God who created us and, through the cross of Jesus, invites us to have that type of relationship with Him! How incredible that is!

We love raising our children to also love and serve Jesus. We certainly prefer to raise them in a country setting. Bow Island is a great place to do that! We love animals and the outdoors. Tara particularly enjoys growing flowers, crafting, baking and raising our kids and I love to build and do carpentry. I have run a small contracting business on the side for years. I also enjoy hunting and being active in some sports.

Please come and join us to worship the Lord together any Sunday, bring your kids to clubs or youth. Everyone is important and necessary. There is a place for everyone at Bow Island E Free Church!
