My wife, Kyla and I are excited to call Bow Island Evangelical Free Church our home church since we started on September 5, 2017. A little bit about us:
Kyla grew up on a farm near Rocky Mountain House, AB until she went to Briercrest College where she took a two year degree in music. I grew up in Harrow, ON which is located south of Windsor. I also attended Briercrest College with the intention of taking a one year certificate program. During my time there however, I realized how much I loved spending time learning more and more about who God, being challenged in so many ways to become more Christ-like, and living in a community of believers dedicated to worshipping God and reaching the culture around them. Kyla and I were married on August 21, 2010 and I would finish my Biblical studies degree one year later as well as an Old Testament theology degree from the Seminary. Since our respective graduations, we both worked at the school in varying capacities: Kyla as administrative assistant and later IT front desk and myself as a custodian, plumber/general labourer, tutor and teacher on rare occasions.
Our time at Briercrest gave us both a passion for showing Christ’s love to those around us through hospitality, teaching and discipleship. It is our goal to continue to learn and help others engage with the culture around them so that the light of Christ may shine through us to others. This is one of the reasons I have found myself called to youth ministry as we endeavour to help youth find their identity in Christ and become followers who do not hide the gift of knowing Jesus but draw others to Him through their words and their lives, now and in the future.
Join us for our youth events and Bible studies as we seek to know God better and enjoy fellowship together at the same time!
